Welcome
Chairman's Message
As I write my last article as the Chairman of the Dallas CPA Society, it is nice to remember what a great year we have had. It has been a busy year and much has been accomplished. There have been more events that have touched more lives than ever before; it happened because more Dallas CPA Society members got involved. As I fade into the sunset, it is my hope that each of you will consider where and how you can be involved in the 2008-2009 year. There are so many wonderful opportunities available for you to make a difference in someone’s life....

Scholarship To Honor Jim And Charlie Smith
The TSCPA Accounting Education Foundation is developing a scholarship in honor of Jim and Charlie Smith. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize Jim for his long history of leadership for TSCPA and the Dallas CPA Society as well as provide assistance to worthy accounting students. The goal is to raise $15,000 to permanently fund the scholarship. It is hoped to achieve the goal before the June 2008 TSCPA Annual Meeting in order to announce the endowed scholarship fund at that time.

Please send your contributions to the TSCPA Accounting Foundation at 14651 Dallas Parkway #700, Dallas TX 75254.

TSCPA Children’s Book Club
Do you remember begging your parents for a little summer spending money or looking for chores to do around the house?  For many school children, summer vacation is already in sight.  You can help to spread and to encourage the message of financial literacy to elementary aged children in Dallas schools through TSCPA and the Dallas CPA Society’s first annual children’s book club.
