Have you met?
Chairman's Message: Patsy Culver

The DCPAS just concluded another successful event. Registration was flawless. The room was arranged correctly. The handouts were organized and complete. Speakers had what they needed when they needed it. Who did all that? The volunteers? The chapter leadership? The committee chair? No, not in this case. It was our heroes who work in our DCPAS office that pulled it off. The tireless staff who make everything work even when it looks like it will not. These folks have been known to work miracles when laptops don’t work and copies are missing. They at times are the difference between an event being a success or failure.

This month I want to introduce you to the DCPAS staff. If you have met them, you may learn something you didn’t know about them. If you have not met them, you will have enough information so you can call one of them if you need help. I also would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and recognize the hard work they do behind the scenes.

Margaret Campbell
Executive Director

Many of you have met Margaret. Margaret is responsible for the reliable and efficient operation of the DCPAS office in the areas of administration planning and coordination. She implements the decisions of the Board of Directors. She provides liaison with committees and continuity of effort with constantly changing elected officers. All DCPAS staff members report to the Executive Director. What you may not know is that Margaret is also a charter member of the Dallas CPA Dance Team.

Gala Rowlett
Director of Member and Staff Services

If you have been around the Chapter for any amount of time you have met Gala Rowlett. Gala has been a pillar of the DCPAS for more years than she likes to admit. Gala liaises with the Public Affairs, Special Events, Vision, Awards, Nominations, and other committees as requested. She is responsible for coordinating meetings of the Board of Directors and annual Chapter meetings. Gala likes to be busy and her other duties include staff oversight including payroll, 401K, insurance, and vacations.

Sharon Parmley
Member and Staff Services Manager

Sharon Parmley is another experienced staff member of your Chapter. Longer term members of our Chapter have watched Sharon grow in her responsibilties culminating with becoming manager last year. Sharon coordinates the activities of the Membership, Partners in Education, Scholarship, and Relations with Other Professional Organizations committees. Sharon is also active with the Special Events committee and plays a large role in the coordination of the annual gala and golf events. Because she and the other staff organized the event so well this year, I think she even had time to dance at the annual gala!

Anita Schoeneberger
Receptionist

When you contact DCPAS Anita is the first one you contact, whether by email or phone. Anita is the voice of DCPAS: She greets all visitors routing them to the right Chapter resource. She also handles reservations for DCPAS-sponsored programs and provides membership support. She makes sure everything is at the ready whenever we have on-site TSCPA CPE courses in our offices.

Farlene Powell
Administrative Assistant

Farlene is the newest member of the DCPAS staff. She is involved with office technology, the website, order processing, and general office administration. Ask about her new baby boy the next time you speak with her (after March 15)!

Without this group of steady, hard-working individuals the DCPAS simply would not operate. When you come to an event or work on an event as a volunteer, take a minute to say thank you to these people. They do enjoy their work, and we should recognize little would happen without them!
