Chairman Message

Chief Financial Officers face a daunting task in today’s business environment. Overseeing the financial performance of their companies, accurately and timely reporting the operational and financial affairs of their company to creditors, shareholders and others, responding to boards and shareholders, and ensuring the operational efficiency of their organizations are among a few of their responsibilities. They are, in many respects, the backbone for the successful operation of any company in today’s litigious and highly regulated environment.
The Dallas CPA Society has had a long-standing commitment to recognizing outstanding leaders in this area. As part of that effort, the Society established a partnership with the Dallas Business Journal several years ago to recognize the most outstanding chief financial officers within the Dallas area. Each year since its inception, the program has grown in size and popularity. Today, the program recognizes leaders in several different categories, including private sector, community service, small, medium, and large private companies, non profit, small, medium, and large public companies, and lifetime achievement.
This year’s CFO of the Year awards ceremony is scheduled for October 20, 2011. The nominations deadline is fast-approaching on August 23, 2011. We strongly encourage our members to consider submitting nominations for this prestigious award. The nominees and the winners receive considerable recognition within the Dallas business community and among their peers through the Dallas Business Journal and the awards ceremony, which draws a large attendance each year. Nominations can be submitted to http://www2.bizjournals.com/dallas/nomination/9491. Please help the Dallas CPA Society recognize the most outstanding CFOs in the Dallas area by submitting a nomination before the deadline.
