The YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas is dedicated to addressing the most critical needs for women in Dallas, offering programs in the areas of financial literacy, parent education, and women’s health services. The YW’s goal is to educate and guide women toward becoming self sufficient and to advocate for sound public policy that supports these efforts.
YWCA Tax Credit Education workshops help families maximize their income tax refund and keep more of their hard-earned money for immediate financial needs and long-term asset development.
These workshops, which begin in December 2011 and run through April 1, 2012, cover:
- Educates participants about tax credits with special attention given to Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
- Promotes the use of free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).
- Discusses the risks of using costly Refund Anticipation.
- Loans (RALs) and Pre-Paid Cards.
