 Holiday Season in the Midst of a World Financial Crisis Brings Thankfulness
The holiday season is well underway this year! Thankfully, some of the holiday traditions we look forward to each year in our city never change. The 41st annual Downtown YMCA Turkey Trot attracted over 34,000 runners on Thanksgiving Day. Big crowds filled North Texas malls on the day after Thanksgiving. The 21st annual Neiman Marcus-Adophus Children’s Parade on Commerce Street will bring thousands of people to downtown Dallas on December 6th.

Sign Up for Love for Kids Christmas Party
All of the toys collected at the Margarita Ball will be distributed to the more than 4,000 children who will attend the Love for Kids Christmas Party on Saturday, December 13 at the Circle R Ranch in Flower Mound. The Dallas CPA Society needs 90 volunteers for this event. Volunteers need to arrive at the Circle R Ranch by 8:30am. A volunteer party is held following the children's departure at 1pm.

Pre-Season Tax Review Courses
The Dallas CPA Society is pleased to announce that the pre-season tax review courses - both individual and corporations - will be held on January 8 and 9, 2009. They will once again be presented by Professor Blaise Bender from San Antonio, Texas. He is an Associate Professor of Accounting and Law at Our Lady of the Lake University. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and a licensed CPA.
