 The DCPAS started the new year with an aggressive agenda. The Annual Meeting of Members was held on January 18th. The event featured TSCPA Executive Director/CEO John Sharbaugh, who gave an excellent look forward to the trends facing the accounting profession, and included unanimous election of the Nominations Committee’s recommendations.
Moving forward with our busy year, we have some great events coming up. On February 13th, the Dallas Chapter will once again host a Tax Hotline under Ken Sibley’s direction and in conjunction with the Dallas Morning News. This project provides a great conduit directly to a very appreciative public audience...

18th Annual Hotline Answers Public’s Tax Questions
The dreaded April 15 deadline sends many people into a panic and in search of a good CPA. You can help relieve those fears, answer some questions and receive recognition all at the same time by participating in the Dallas CPA Society’s 18th Annual Tax Hotline, coordinated in conjunction with the Dallas Morning News. The Hotline will be Sunday, February 13, 2011, from 11:30am-4:00pm at the Dallas Morning News, 508 Young Street.
Dallas CPA Society volunteers handle hotline phone calls and offer expert answers to commonly asked tax questions regarding:
Interest and Charitable Deductions
Schedule D
401K Withdrawals Reported on W-2
Roth IRA
Capital Gains
IRA Distributions
IRA Rollovers

Taxes on the Sale of a Residence
