Chairman Message
by David Colmenero, JD, CPA

David Colmenero, JD, CPASeptember marks the end of summer and the beginning of cooler weather!  The Dallas CPA Society is moving forward with its continuing efforts to be a greater resource for all of its members, including those working in nonprofit, government, public practice, business and industry, among other areas.

In furtherance of that effort, the Dallas CPA Society has partnered with the University of North Texas to offer a continuing education conference targeted to persons working in industry.  The conference is scheduled for November 10, 2011, and will be held at the Hilton Anatole Hotel.  Topics will include discussions focusing on FASB/IASB, SEC, PCAOB, corporate fraud, corporate governance and corporate tax issues.  This is the first year of what we hope will be an annual partnership with UNT for this conference. We anticipate that next year members of the Dallas CPA Society will have a greater role in planning this conference...
